A Brief Description
Malolos City High School- Santisima
Trinidad was established on May 2011 through the collaborative leadership of
City Mayor Christian D. Natividad, Officer-In-Charge/ Assistant Schools
Division Superintendent Dr. Zenia G. Mostoles, and Santisima Trinidad Barangay
Captain Nonato A. Valenzuela.
Classes formally started on June 2011,
under the administration of the School Principal, Dr. Nora C. Lising, offering
First Year (186 enrollees) and Second Year (88 enrollees) High School. After a
year of its establishment, Mrs. Lorena S. Estidola was installed as the new
School Officer-In-Charge in 2012. She was succeeded by Mrs. Benilda B. Angeles,
School Principal I, in 2014. On July 01, 2016, new administration came when Mr.
Joey R. Cabigao, School Principal I, assumed into office. Best practices of the
previous administrations are adapted and some innovations are being initiated.
Reflection
Malolos City High School – Santisima
Trinidad was not my alma mater. I was actually assigned to other school during
my field study before I got in to my cooperating school. At first I was
unfamiliar with the environment, students, teachers and to my co-student teachers.
But as the time goes by I learned to socialize with them. I was lucky that this
is my cooperating school. Even though it is just a small school, it taught me a lot and gave memorable
experiences. I almost give up on teaching. I ask myself, is this what I wanted
to do? But my colleagues and the teachers gave me a reason not to give up and
trust to myself. The teachers especially my cooperating teacher taught me on
how to improve my teaching strategies and how to be a better teacher. Teaching
is not easy; you should put effort and dedication to your vocation. I am
thankful that Malolos City High School – Santisima Trinidad gave me opportunity
to experience memorable happenings that I will treasure forever and open my
mind to know what teaching really is.

Reflection
Lesson plan is very
important for the teachers. It will serve as their guide for the flow of the
discussion and to set the objectives that is expected to the students to
attain. My cooperating teacher always checked and observed my everyday lesson
plan. She said things that I should improve. I am thankful to her because her
suggestions and guidance help me to improve my way of teaching. And I learned
from my mistakes. I will always remember and keep on my mind that there is a
person who helps me to become a better teacher.

Last
December 11, 2017, the Student Government of Malolos City High School –
Santisima Trinidad headed by my cooperating teacher Mrs. Teresa H. Konno went
to Bethany House Sto. Nino Orphanage located at Tabe, Guiguinto, Bulacan. They
gave donation to the children in the orphanage and enjoyed the limited time to
play and talk with them. I am supposedly
with them but apparently my cooperating teacher did not allow me to join
because if both of us will leave, no one will teach her classes. To have a fund
for the donation, the SSG conduct a film showing where the students can watch a
movie and pay for it.
I
would really like to join them and went to orphanage. One of my dreams is to
help the children in the orphanage. I would work hard to achieve that dream.
When I was still working on Jollibee, one of the customers provides foods and
toys for the children in the orphanage. I was really glad seeing those kids,
they are like angels. Even though we just only delivered the foods and toys and
do some performance and games, I felt relieved and blessed. And that is one my
dream I will make sure to come true.

I was observed everyday
by my cooperating teacher. She did not let the day passed without observing me.
At first, it is actually uncomfortable to see that someone is observing you. I
can’t move freely. But as the day passed, I managed it. It is important that
your cooperating teacher observe you every day. It is a way where you can see
the things you should improve. My cooperating teacher always reminds the things
that I could remain and change. And now I can say that I improved a lot. From
the way I speak, my lesson plan, the way I execute the discussion and the art
of questioning. As a student teacher, it is important that there is someone who
will guide you to be a better teacher.

Bago natin pormal na umpisahan ang ating talakayan, mayroon muna akong
inihandang gawain para sa inyo. Handa na ba kayo?
Mayroon ako ditong mga larawan, susuriin ninyo kung sino ba ang mga tao
na ito.
Tama! Sino ba si Christopher Columbus?
Mahusay! Sa tingin mo ano ang naiambag niya sa kasaysayan ng daigdig?
Magaling! Sa pangalawang larawan naman, sino ba itong tao na ito?
Magaling! Sino ba si Ferdinand Magellan?
Tama! Sa paglalakbay ni Ferdinand Magellan ano ang kaniyang natuklasan?
Mahusay! Ang mga tao na iyan ay ilan lamang sa mga Europeo na naglayag sa
iba’t ibang parte ng daigdig at nag ambag ng mga kontribusyon sa kasaysayan
ng daigdig. Mas lalo pa natin mapapalawak ang kanilang mga nagawa sa
talakayan mamaya.
Ngayon naman mayroon pa akong inihandang mga larawan dito. Susuriin ninyo
ang bawat larawan at sasabihin ang inyong opinyon patungkol dito. Pagkatapos,
aalamin ninyo ang koneksyon nito sa bawat isa. Naintindihan na ba kung paano
ang gagawin?
Magaling! Simulan na ang pagsuri.
Tama! Ano ang masasabi mo tungkol dito.
Mahusay! Ano naman ang inyong nakikita sa pangalawang larawan?
Tama! Sa tingin mo ano ang gustong ipahiwatig ng larawan na bibliya?

Dahil po sa kaniya natuklasan po ang New World o Bagong Mundo at ito nga
po ay ang America.
Si Ferdinand Magellan po.
Si Ferdinand Magellan po ang Portuguese na sumakop sa Pilipinas at
ipinalaganap niya po ang Katolisismo sa ating bansa.
Natuklasan po niya na ang mundo ay hindi

Nagsimula noong ika-15 siglo ang dakilang panahon ng eksplorasyon .
Ano nga ba ang ibig sabihin ng eksplorasyon?
Tama! Ang eksplorasyon na ito ang nagbigay-daan sa kolonyalismo at
imperyalismo.
Ano ba ang ibig sabihin ng kolonyalismo?
Magaling! At ano naman ang imperyalismo?
Mahusay! Ano nga ulit ang tatlong bagay na itinuturing na motibo ng eksplorasyon?
Tama! Ano pa?
Magaling! At ang pang huli?
Para mas madali ninyong matandaan ang tatlong motibo ng mga Europeo sa eksplorasyon,
tandaan ninyo lang ang 3G’s na nangangahulugang Gold, God and Glory.
May mga instrumento na ginagamit ang mga manlalayag sa kanilang
eksplorasyon.
Ito ay ang astrolabe, compass at caravel.
Ano ba ang astrolabe?
Tama! Ano naman ang compass?
Tama! At ano naman itong barko na ito o tinatawag na caravel?
Mahusay! Ngayong nabigyan na kayo ng ideya tungkol sa motibo ng eksplorasyon,
atin nang alamin ang mga pangyayaring naganap sa Unang Yugto ng Imperyalismo
at Kolonisasyon sa Europe.
Atin na ngayong pakinggan ang mga mag aaral na magsasalaysay ng mga
pangyayari sa unang yugto ng imperyalismo at kolonisasyon. Makinig mabuti
dahil magtatanong ako pagkatapos ng pagsasalaysay ng inyong mga kaklase.
Ang unang magsasalaysay ay si _________ Pakinggan natin ang paksa na
napunta sa kanya, “Ang paghahanap ng Spices.”
Magaling! Bigyan naman natin ng tatlong palakpak at isang bagsak si

paksa na “Pinangunahan ng Portugal ang Paggagalugad.”

pamamagitan ng paglalakbay sa dagat.
At si Prinsipe Henry naman ang naging patron ng mga manlalakbay kaya siya
tinawag na “The Navigator.”

Glory po o ang paghahangad ng katanyagan at karangalan.
Ito po ang ginagamit upang sukatin ang taas ng bituin.
Ito po ang nagbibigay ng tamang direksyon

desisyon patungkol sa mga epekto ng unang yugto ng imperyalismo at
kolonisasyon. Aalamin nila kung ito ba ay nakabuti o nakasama at ano ang naging dahilan ng kanilang desisyon.
Pipili ang bawat grupo ng isang representante upang iulat ang kanilang naging
sagot. Bibigyan ng puntos ang bawat mag-aaral base sa rubrics na inihanda ng

I consider this as my best lesson plan because this is the one that used in my final demonstration. I pass through different struggles to finish this lesson plan. It is a long process just to make sure that it will be the best. My cooperating teacher supports me throughout my lesson plan. She gave suggestions on how I can improve my lesson plan. She supports me and tells that I can do it. Those things encourage me to do better and as the result, it was successful.

These are some of the
activities done by the students. They completed the activity and their answers
were correct, though some of the students just copy the answer from the module.
With this, you can see the product of the whole discussion and you will know if
the students learn from you. As a teacher you will make sure that the students
achieved the objectives you set for them and evaluation is one of the
instruments to know if it happens.
These are some of the
best project of the students for the Third Grading Period. My Cooperating
Teacher assigned different personalities to every student that is connected to
the history. It is actually a great project because aside from the thought that
it will be used by the teacher, you will see the creativeness of the students.
Also, they will be familiar to the personality that assigned to them that will
help on their studies.
I was touched by the
feedbacks of my students. I am glad that they appreciate me as a teacher. No
one can explain how much I’m happy seeing this and the personal letters they
gave to me. A good feedback gave me reason to pursue my profession and to
become more efficient and effective teacher. I am not just a teacher to them; I
was also a sister and a friend to them. We were close inside and outside of the
school. By their feedbacks and letter, they show me that I gave them knowledge
and they learned from me and also they considered me part of their life and I
will treasure them forever.

How Teachers Can Help Students Who Fail in Class to
Succeed at Life
Students went to school to have
knowledge and to be educated. Teachers play a big role on how the students will
be a better person and a good model in the community. Diverse students will be
seen in school. Students pay attentions on their studies but some were not. Most
of the students got failing grades. There are different reasons why, some were
not serious on their studies, family problem, peer influence or engage with
restricted things like using drugs. With the article How Teachers Can Help Students Who Fail in Class to Succeed at Life,
we will know what part we should play on helping our students to believe in
themselves despite of the adversity and setbacks they encountered.
Many of us know kids who seemed
headed for disaster when they were young and in school. Maybe they flunked out
of classes, or they did drugs, or they were depressed loners. But then
something happened later and they blossomed into healthy, happy adults who
contributed to society in important ways. Researchers who study risk,
resilience, and recovery throughout the lifespan have identified several ways
that children move through adversity and find their way to thriving. In the
book Children Who Fail at School But
Succeed at Life (W. Norton & Company, 2016, 304 pages), it highlight
some of the misperceptions that can put these kids at further risk for failing
at school. Many of us also equate resilience with success, ignoring specific
learning challenges and important environmental influences. The truth is, some
of smartest and most resilient people we will ever meet may struggle
significantly just to get through a typical day, school-age children included.
There are nine ways educators can support kids so that fewer will succumb to
problems these now-successful adults did decades ago. First is provide
opportunities for kids to feel they belong and to contribute in meaningful ways,
raise the bar and level the playing field, don’t expect a child to succeed in
isolation, reward struggle as well as achievement, be a talent scout, consider
a change of scenery or change the school social climate, encourage kids to
speak out and get involved, never underestimate the positive impact you can have
on a struggling child’s later life course and use caution when judging who is
and who is not resilient.
As a teacher it is important to
value your students. Some teachers are discouraging students who got bad grades
and failed in their class. We should encourage them and give them support that
they can do it. There’s a reason why they are acting like that. Being failed in
class doesn’t mean you’re a failure in life. That’s why there are teachers to support
students who are experiencing struggles in life and in studies. Just like the
different ways to help students mentioned in the article, a teacher should give
opportunity to the students. Students should feel that they are belong to the
class. Give them responsibilities. With this, they will feel that someone trusted
them and will be motivated to work hard. We also see the efforts of the
children. We should praise their achievements and also the mistakes because
even though they make mistakes, there are still efforts with it. And also we should
talk to our students. We will serve as their companion and they will feel that
they are not alone in their fight. For me, the reason why this article said
that the children who failed at school but succeed in life is because they
encountered different difficulties and struggles that make them strong.
Experience is the best teacher. There is nothing wrong if you failed, the
important thing is you try to build yourself, to be a better person and to succeed
in life with the help of teachers.

questions to the students. I also relate the topic to the present time and to
the lives of the people especially to the Filipinos and that was a great

topic if they only reported it. The leader gives part to the members and they
will just memorize it or just read it in front of the class. As a result, I
need to discuss the topic for them to understand more.

I discussed the topics Simula ng Rome and Tagumpay ng Plebeian Laban sa Patrician.
The students understand the lesson
because the topic is relatable to the situation in our country. They give
some law in our country and in the school (referring to the 12 Tables in the
topic). They also asked the condition of the Filipinos like the farmers which
is comparable to the Plebeians.
On the evaluation part, I asked them
if they would be given a chance to create a law what it would be and why.

I was nervous, my hands and voice
were shaking like this is the first time that I will teach. I give all my
effort for this dry run but I get disappointed to the result. I did my dry
run on the other section and not to the section that I will use on my demo.
My critic teacher said that the problem was not with me but with the
students. I did not overtime or under time. I used my visual properly. But
the students did not help me on my dry run. They did not participate and it
looks like a normal class discussion. By that I extremely got nervous and
sad. I thought of what will happen to my final demonstration.

I see myself years from
now teaching with wisdom and vision. After graduation, I will review and take
the Licensure Examination for Teachers. I will apply to private schools and I
will make sure that I only accept teaching related job or opportunities. This is
my vocation so I will make sure that I will be into teaching field. When I was
a kid, I’ve always dreamed of to be a teacher. We usually play teacher teacher-an with my cousins and
neighbors. When I graduated from high school and started to inquire to Bulacan
State University, I already decided that I will take Education as my course. I
never thought about any other courses because for me being a teacher is the best
job in the world. I know that I am not really that wise just like other, but I
know to myself that I can teach passionately and I can improve myself and my
knowledge. I will make sure that my students will learn something from me. I
will also make sure that I will have a strong relationship between my future students
as well as my future co-teacher and staffs. I am no longer a kid. I cannot
believe that next year I will finish my studies. I cannot believe that I will
be going to work and take responsibilities. Time flies so fast.
As a teacher, I will
motivate my students and be a role model to them. I will teach them how to pursue
their dreams and face the struggles in life. I want to teach the students not
just the lesson in the book but also the lesson life. Teaching is not easy but
if you love what you’re doing there’s no room for giving up.
